Three Myths About MLM That Will Kill Your Business

April 22, 2010 By: Gabriel Fernandez-Alava Category: Internet Business

When starting a new business venture such as a multi-level marketing activity, beware of a few myths you would like to dispel, otherwise your new venture might be at risk.Fact should be separated from fiction before you start, to avoid potential misconceptions, so that building your business is where you really focus your energies.

1. Income will roll in overnight

This myth will not necessarily kill your business on its own, but starting out with the idea that you are sure to make thousands the first month will cause major disappointment when that expectation isn’t met.

Instant income takes time, and only multi-level marketers that have been in the business enough time, have developed large networks that provide instant income. It is important not to be frustrated by lack of results as income is much more challenging to come buy when you are starting up.

2.The larger your downline, the greater the income

In a multi-level marketing business, the downline refers to the people under you – the people who come into the company after you do. This myth can sometimes hold true, but that all depends on how committed the people in your downline are. They must be as devoted to the business as you are. If they drop out, then you will lose time and money in attempting to replace them. With so many people in your downline, you might simply not have the time and resources to train all of them properly. When you can’t help the downline grow their business, then it comes back to you and causes your own earnings to suffer.

Unlike some sales jobs in which your only task is to find potential prospects and do sales, MLMs require constant efforts in building the business from within. Thus, it is imperative to commit the best of your efforts to team building.Lines of communication must remain always open to allow perfect functioning with other members of the team and bring in sales.

3.MLMs are deceiving

Unlike other legitimate business models, MLM has suffered from a bad reputation over the years, unfairly associated with illegal and fraudulent practices. This myth is the most important one and the one you should watch out for.

A pyramid scheme would be a well known example of unfulfilled promises.People pay to enroll and are promised a return once they get some others to sign in.But when the pyramid creator tactics are found out, they just walk away and the whole thing bursts out.

If you are to start an MLM business, commit yourself to good business practices.Do not focus that much in recruiting, but emphasize the pure sales aspect of the business.Acting this way, the company will be perceived as a serious sales company, rather than being questioned because it concentrates that much effort in simply enrolling people up.That is the best way to overcome the myth.

Overall, when starting a multi-level marketing business, the key to success is separating fact from fiction. When this is accomplished, one can move forward and focus his or her energy on building the business in a manner that he or she sees the most apt.

The Key To Success With Your MLM Leads: Stop Sharing

March 28, 2010 By: Paul Wintz Category: Internet Marketing

I see so many people enter the MLM industry and attempt to prospect their MLM leads by sharing their products with them.

In fact, if you’ve ever been to a hotel or home meeting, you know that it’s practically the exclusive recruitingmethod taught by most companies.

In fact, how many times have you been told to “just put products in the hands of your MLM leads, it’ll sell itself”?

Which, I have to admit, sounds pretty easy when you first hear it. After all, you simply share some products that you already love with other people and you’ll be paid to do it!

Then the truth sets in.

You start sharing the wonderful new juice, vitamin, or whatever else to your network marketing leads. But they don’t listen. It’s frustrating. After all, you take the juice yourself and it makes you feel SO much better.

What gives?

The answer is something most networkers will never even realize. It involves the psychology behind sharing, and it reveals the reason your MLM leads don’t respond to your sharing.

Now let’s say, for example, that I just starting using a new dish soap. I absolutely love this dish soap. And as a matter of fact, when I use this dish soap my dishes never get dirty again. (I know, a little ridiculous, but bare with me)

I tell you all of my awesome experiences with it, and even tell you how you can go buy some for yourself.

Do you think you’d give it a try?

I’d think so. Especially in light of the awesome results I’ve gotten.

Now what about if I told you that I’m a distributor for this new gas additive, and the only place you can order it is from me. On top of that, I make 30% off of each bottle I sell.

Would you still be as willing to try it?

I highly doubt it. You see, the minute you realize I have something to gain through my recommendation of the product is the minute you start discounting my opinion.

Well guess what – your MLM leads feel the same way.

They heavily discount your opinion when it comes to your products because they realize you have something to gain from their use of it – money.

This now turns your supposed sharing into something completely different: selling.

Which is why when you approach your network marketing leads as if you’re simply trying to share products with them, when in fact you’re selling them, you face nothing but constant rejection.

The affiliate program essentially means any one who has bought the ebook can market it and make a profit. At times Mike Dillard offers a 7-day free trial but it is generally observed that people who read magnetic sponsoring believe it is essential reference and keep their copy forever after full payment.

In fact, magnetic sponsoring is quite a concept. It teaches you how to turn into the type of person that ‘attracts’ clients and potential associates into their business. You might feel this is nonsense if you are like I was. How can this 60-page ebook teach me how to ‘attract’ people like a magnet?

But I was wrong. This is indeed a powerful mindset builder because it not only has endless experience poured into it, the ebook also has tips and techniques that just plain work!

Whether you are an affiliate marketer or a network marketer or just a direct seller online, you need to start with this book.

And here’s the clincher on affiliateship. As a magnetic sponsoring owner you can access 8 to 10 of Mike Dillard’s other products which you can market to anyone. Which implies you get a complete profitable business to start off right away!

This means once you own a $39 ebook called Magnetic Sponsoring you have rights to sell a $1000 advanced course on pay per click and earn $400 or so from it! And the affiliate program is pretty robust, tried and tested. So it’s a win-win as this helps a beginner take off with something salable!

Watch a video on the magnetic sponsoring process at Dr Whitefield’s site which has the full range of Mike Dillard products also.
